Welcome to another school year! My name is Mrs. Stephanie Black and I am proud to be the principal of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary for this school year! It is truly an honor to lead a dedicated staff, hardworking students, caring parents, and supportive community. I have many years of experience being a teacher, counselor, and dean of students on my resume. I was the principal of Florence Elem. for 4 1/2 years and before that the assistant principal at Picotte Elementary. With the support of parents and the community we will be able to assist our students in reaching the goals set out for them at each grade level. They can reach this goal by doing the following...
1. Every child should start their day with a nutritional breakfast. We start serving free breakfast at 8:35 a.m. each morning!
2. Reading is an important component of your child's education. Please either read them a book or encourage them to read to you every night.
3. Encourage good study habits by asking your child if they have homework. If they don't have homework have something prepared for them to do. Ask your child's teacher for some ideas. Set aside a time and a designated place to do homework.
4. Support your child's teacher by asking what you can do to help your child in and out of school.
I know this is going to be a productive and exciting school year! If you need to reach me you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call me at 402-457-5723. I look forward to an awesome school year!
